Sophie is 6. Maya looks away for 30 seconds. Sophie is gone.

The food court is packed. Maya runs to the information desk. The security guard asks if Sophie has anything on her with contact details. Maya holds up the small silicone wristband — the QRSprint tag she ordered two months ago and half-forgot about.

A minute later, a staff member near the toy store spots Sophie at a display window and scans the wristband. Maya's phone rings. It is the QRSprint app, with the store name in the notification. The staff member never had to share a personal number, and neither did Maya.

Sophie is back before Maya finishes explaining what happened to the security desk. The wristband is still on her wrist.

James's father has early-stage dementia. He walks the same three-block loop every morning and has never gone further than the corner store.

Today he did. He got into a rideshare at 2:30pm and told the driver 'downtown'. The driver asked which street. He said 'downtown'.

Ten minutes in, the driver realised something was wrong. He pulled over and looked at his passenger more carefully. He noticed a simple pendant on a cord around his neck. He scanned it with his phone.

The QR opened a page: a name, a blood type, two conditions listed, and three emergency contacts each with a one-tap call button through the QRSprint app. The driver tapped the first one.

James answered in two rings. He drove to the intersection the driver described, arriving 38 minutes after the scan. His father was calm in the back seat. The driver had not moved the car.
